Challenge 1: Evaluation Pressure
The evaluation exists to prove you can trade. But knowing you're being tested changes how people behave. Traders who are normally patient start forcing trades. Traders who normally respect their stops start moving them.
The solution: Trade the evaluation exactly like you'd trade a funded account. Same strategies, same risk, same patience. If you change your approach just to pass, you'll struggle when you're actually funded because the habits won't transfer.
Accept that the evaluation might take longer than you'd like. It's better to pass slowly with good habits than to pass quickly with bad ones.
Challenge 2: Understanding Risk Limits

Most funded accounts come with platforms, charting tools, and analytics. The problem isn't access, it's knowing how to use them effectively.
The solution: Spend time learning your platform before you start trading real money. Know where everything is. Practice order entry until it's automatic. Familiarize yourself with the analytics so you can actually interpret the data.
The middle of a fast-moving trade isn't the time to figure out how to set a stop loss.
Challenge 4: Tracking Performance
Many funded traders focus only on the P&L. Did I make money today? But that's surface-level. You need to understand why you're making or losing money.
The solution: Keep a journal. Track every trade. Review weekly. Look for patterns in your wins and losses that aren't obvious from just checking your account balance.
The traders who improve fastest are the ones who know exactly what's working and what isn't.
Challenge 5: Psychological Adjustment
Trading someone else's money feels different than trading your own. Some traders freeze up because the stakes feel higher. Others get reckless because "it's not my money."
The solution: Treat the capital with respect, but don't let it paralyze you. The firm gave you the account because they believe you can trade. Execute your strategy the same way you would with your own money.
If you find yourself hesitating on valid setups or taking trades you normally wouldn't, that's a sign you need to reset your mental approach.
